What is Mesotherapy ?

Mesotherapy involves injecting microscopic quantities of natural extracts, pharmaceuticals and vitamins into the skin. By definition any medication injected into the skin, fat or tissues of Mesoderm (middle layer of skin) is considered Mesotherapy. All medications are selected for the specific condition being treated.

What is Mesotherapy Used for?

It can be used to eliminate cellulite, promote weight loss, treat aging skin and redundant (sagging) skin, to treat cosmetic conditions, including acne, stretch marks, scars and wrinkles and rejuvenate the hands and neck. It can also be used to reduce and contour fat.

How is The Procedure done?

The needles used in Mesotherapy are very short and thin. For fair skin, a 4 mm needle is recommended, and for darker skin, a 6 mm needle is used so the doctor can deliver the medications to the right depth. You may feel a slight pinching or burning sensation when the injections are administered. However, we can provide a topical anesthetic that makes treatment virtually painless.

Are there any side effects ?

A common side effect of Mesotherapy is bruising, which generally resolves over one week. Patients may experience temporary soreness. This will subside within 24-48 hours

What to expect of the results ?

Results vary depending on your body type and the condition being treated. On average, patients notice visible improvement in two to three sessions. For certain conditions, patients see results after the first session.

The results do last, especially when combined with exercise and proper nutrition. However, we cannot stop the natural aging that affects your appearance. For this reason, we recommend regular maintenance visits.

PRP Injection

What Is Platelet-rich Plasma (PRP)?

The platelets are one of the solid components of blood, that are best known for their importance in clotting blood. However, platelets also contain hundreds of proteins called growth factors which are very important in the healing of injuries.

PRP is plasma(liquid component of blood) with 5 to 10 times greater (or richer) concentration of  platelets and hence the growth factors also.

How is PRP prepared ?

To develop a PRP preparation, blood must first be drawn from a patient. The platelets are separated from other blood cells and their concentration is increased during a process called centrifugation. Then the increased concentration of platelets is combined with the remaining blood.

What Conditions are Treated with PRP?
 Is It Effective?

Treatment with platelet-rich plasma holds great promise. Currently, however, the research studies to back up the claims are lacking.

Is the procedure risky?

As it involves harvesting a component from one’s own blood and reinjecting, the risks associated with it are minimal. There may be increased pain at the injection site (if done without anaesthesia), but the incidence of other problems like infection, tissue damage, nerve injuries appear to be no different from any other procedures.
